About Anna
As a former shift worker, I understand the unsociable and unpredictable challenges of your unique work-life balance. I know how that feels and how it can impact your health. But I also know there are solutions.
As a former shift worker, I understand the unsociable and unpredictable challenges of your unique work-life balance. I know how that feels and how it can impact your health. But I also know there are solutions.
I had a former career in the emergency services, so I understand the challenges of trying to eat healthily on different shift patterns, accessing healthy food, finding time to plan, prepare and eat it.
But, the type of fuel you put into your body and your performance are so intertwined, it has to be a priority!
I lived off a lot of convenience food and takeaways, eating at all times of the day and night without a second thought. We all expected to keep performing at a high level on substandard fuel.
But that only works for so long.
I now understand what different foods do to your body, how certain food types actually drive fatigue and low mood. You don’t have to cut out all your favourite choices and treats. But there are foods that will provide better energy, support a consistent weight, your gut health and mood.
With first hand experience, I can support you as you break those habits, adopt new ones, and feel revitalised. Let me help you get your mojo back!
Work with the Emergency Services
As part of their OK Life programme, I have provided nutrition consultancy for the National Police Wellbeing Service (https://www.oscarkilo.org.uk/services/ok-life/nutrition-wellbeing), creating a Nutrition for Wellbeing Programme for all UK officers and staff to access. I’ve also worked with the College of Paramedics and a UK Fire and Rescue Service to support their staff with fatigue.
Transport Sector
Health outcomes for professional drivers aren’t great, due largely to their sedentary role, delivery / schedule demands and shift patterns. Healthy eating can be way down the list of priorities, but food and drink choices affect the way you think and feel.
I am a member of the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety, Bus Centre of Excellence and Association of Road Risk Management, where I raise awareness within the transport industry of the potential impact of poor diet on road safety. Certain food choices and habits can make you feel sleepy, which isn’t great if you are driving.
Private Practice
I work 1:1 with clients, either online or face to face at the lovely Surrey Holistic Centre (https://surreyholistic.com/) in Godalming.
I am a member of the British Association of Nutritional Therapy and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
